This workshop is for any kind of time-based performance : music, dance, theater, puppetry, spoken word. If you need a deadline to begin, deadlines to work up to a public performance, or could use some perspective on what you are making, this is it; this is for you.

Fieldwork is a place and time for performing artists to learn about their work, develop their ability to give feedback, and build a community of artistic peers. You will get responses to what you are making in a way that respects the intent of the work and allows you to discover your own solutions. Philippa Kaye facilitates. A choreographer and performer, she has facilitated Fieldwork workshops in New York City and recently attended The Field conference in Portland with the plan of starting a Detroit network site. She will introduce and hold participants to the simple and effective Fieldwork guidelines. This initial group will meet five times; on Thursdays from 5:30-7:30PM. The space will be open and available for warm-up/rehearsal at 4:30. (We will not meet on Nov 28th, Thanksgiving.)
