lady: a woman having proprietary rights or authority especially as a feudal superior; a woman of superior social position; a woman of refinement and gentle manners.
Big Red Wall Dance is cultivating an original work, which first premiered in 2016. Colored Her A Lady explores the term 'lady' and how the definition changes within cultures, race and religions. The company will dive into what society deems a lady and how the word is viewed throughout Black culture. The original finished piece, which is under 30 minutes long, has been developed into a full-length work.
