4:20
This score was inspired during what I will refer to as my Sunday movement explorations aka Dancing Thru the Rona. 4:20 was inspired by my solitude throughout the quarantine. I had been searching for grounding within my African Americaness with many members of the community and greater diaspora pointing to the church I decided to channel that into a moving solo dance party that played on the pun of 4:20 as a time to get high. Instead I decided to get lifted through movement and meditation to find freedom in response to biblical scripture that seemed binding. I was interested in spiritual release and vibes to the r&b/gospel blends if singer/songwriter Durand Bernarr.
