Black Identity Space

  • Marygrove Conservancy 8425 W McNichols Rd Detroit, MI 48221 United States (map)

Collective Sweat Detroit is committed to celebrating the many identities that make up our community. This February we are celebrating Black History Month by hosting a space specifically for Black identified members of our community.

Black Identity Space (facilitated by Miryam Johnson) is a movement celebration of Black Identities. Inspired by the hashtags #blackgirlmagic & #blackboyjoy, this class aims to explore the necessity of finding moments and spaces that cultivate Black joy.

What are ways in which we express joy, what is the source of that expression and how do we carry that into our future generations?

WED. FEB 13th || 7p to 8:30p || Marygrove Conservancy || Cost: sliding scale of $1 to $5.

*this space is specifically for Black Identified Movers - open to all levels! (Everyone is welcome to join the movement//conversation the followings week - FEB 20th).
